First Letter Dictates Spam

First Letter Dictates Spam

Email addresses that begin with an A, M, S, R, or P receive more than 40% unwanted email. Addresses beginning with a Q, Y, or Z receive around 20% spam.

According to researcher Richard Clayton of Cambridge University, this is due to the way in which many spammers compose their email addresses. They mainly use popular names and paste other domain names onto them.
